Zooshare Project Moving Ahead

The community group Zooshare was offered a contract by the Ontario Power Association to produce renewable power from its proposed anaerobic digester at the Toronto Zoo site. Angus Power which has invested engineering effort since the origination of the project in 2011, has been selected to handle EPC of the 500kw project.

The CIA ( Connection Impact Assessment) has been completed and the REA ( Renewable Energy Application) is underway and will be complete early in 2014.  Feedstocks are manure from the zoo, organics from a large grocery store chain and other dairy manure as needed..  Detail engineering will start in spring of 2014.

This project will attract a lot of public notice being at the Zoo and will be a good ambassador for the ever increasing waste to energy  market sector
